The Great Barrington Land Conservancy (GBLC) seeks a part-time administrative assistant.
GBLC is dedicated to conservation and stewardship of our community's natural resources and special places. In 2017, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of our establishment as Great Barrington's land conservancy.
- We work to protect open space for ecological, recreational, agricultural, and scenic purposes.
- We organize community volunteers on behalf of land conservation and stewardship.
- We partner with local, regional, and national land trust organizations.
- We support sustainable agriculture as a means of preserving our farming heritage.
- We support neighborhood initiatives that align with our mission.
Through our stewardship projects we engage the community in the understanding, appreciation, and care of our natural resource areas.
The administrative assistant is responsible for:
- Supporting the GBLC Board of the Directors with outreach, fundraising, and community engagement efforts.
- Familiarity with Google Suite. Maintain and update and organize Land Conservancy Google files.
- Maintaining GBLC’s donor database in Little Green Light. This includes, processing donations, generating acknowledgement letters, creating mailing lists, and generating donation reports.
- Generating fundraising appeal letters and materials.
- Maintaining the Land Conservancy website https://www.gbland.org/ (Drupal platform). Writing and posting materials on GBLC’s social media pages (Facebook and Instagram), drafting e-blasts via MailChimp, and posting on community calendars.
- Hosting Zoom meetings, taking minutes at Board meetings, and maintaining Board minutes and resolutions
- Creating and editing promotional material in Adobe Acrobat, including banners, flyers, leaflets, brochures, letterhead, envelopes, and newsletters.
- Support event organizing and planning.
- Responding to emails from the general public and logging volunteer interest submitted through the website.
- Logging volunteer hours
Required skills:
- Ability to work in Adobe, Google Suite, Little Green Light, Drupal, MailChimp, Zoom
- Ability to coordinate efforts with GBLC Board of Directors
- Strong writing and word processing skills.
- General office skills.
- Community outreach including social media and event outreach skills
- Detail-oriented
- Familiarity with non-profit outreach and development
Work from home on a personal computer. Must be available 6-8 hours weekly. Administrative weekly meetings via Zoom 2 weekday hours.
$25 per hour.
