Administrative Intern

Animal Rescue and Sanctuary in Indian Trail, NC is looking for an Administrative Intern. Seeking highly self-motivated, multitasking quick learner with customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine clerical and secretarial duties
  • Work with Microsoft Office
  • Front desk duties where you will work with the public. You will:

o Intake animals

o Handle adoptions'

o Take in donations

  • Will enter and update animal data in Raptor Med software. Use of this software will be taught to you.
  • Care of some house animals
  • Clean and keep the front area and house clean and organized
  • Take in deliveries from FedEx, UPS, USPS and the public
  • Handle store purchases
  • Work the register
  • Work with people picking up auction items
  • Prepare some items for shipment
  • Keep a house supply inventory listing
  • Work with the Hotline on intakes and other information they need
  • May need to work with staff and our director on other clerical duties and where any assistance is needed.

Qualifications:

  • Love animals
  • Be an outgoing, friendly person
  • Be proactive
  • Detailed orientated
  • Knowledge of Raptor Med platform a plus
  • Previous Administrative experience preferred
  • Possess Customer service skills a necessity
  • Ability to multitask a must
  • Organizational skills needed
  • Possess strong verbal and written skills
  • Be able to handle a fast-paced environment
  • Must have a current Tetanus vaccine

Salary and Position Information

  • This is a seasonal stipend position with a start date in May and lasting through August. We can discuss the start date. Stipend would be $500 with the successful completion of the internship
  • We need a current resume and cover letter stating why you wish to apply for this position.
  • 40 hours per week
  • Must be a team player but work independently as well
  • Must be able to work some nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions, including heat, humidity and rain as you will be outside daily
  • Preference will be given to those currently in college in a related field or those who have completed a bachelor’s degree. We will also consider mature high school students 16 years of age and older with a strong interest in animals
