Farm Connect Montana is a state-wide organization and serves many different non-tribal and tribal communities across Montana. Our mission is to grow a healthy local food community by preserving farmland, teaching new farmers, and making food accessible for all. This position will focus on assisting in the development and implementation of new community outreach and engagement strategies across programs and improve Farm Connect Montana’s reach throughout the state. This position will be 80% in an office environment and up to 20% travel to farms and partner organizations.  

Essential Functions and responsibilities:

• Assist with Partners on the Plate, a campaign that pairs local farmers with wholesale buyers
• Develop and implement outreach campaigns designed to train farmers on nutritional business incentives
• Implement local food promotional projects that connect consumers to local farmers
• Introduce local food supporters to Farm Connect’s new office and programs through smaller on-site event opportunities
• Develop program and community outreach content associated with the above responsibilities for e-news and social media outlets.
• Attendance to mandatory trainings (Orientation, Symposium, mid-service training and end of service training)
• Participation in evaluation and reporting (monthly reporting, bi-weekly timesheet submission and monthly check-in calls)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to speak in public settings to multiple ages and demographics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of multiple computer applications including Word, Excel and Canva
• Ability to be part of a collaborative team
• Excellent time and project management skills with attention to detail
