We’re looking for an energetic and dedicated Ambassador Animal Trainer I to join our growing team!
About the Role:
As an Ambassador Animal Trainer I, you will be responsible for the day-to-day care, behavioral training, and enrichment of a dynamic ambassador animal collection, including small mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, and invertebrates. You will also take center stage leading daily public presentations, animal encounters, and educational chats that connect our guests to the natural world.

What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement enrichment and training activities under the direction of senior staff.
- Conduct scheduled animal presentations, encounters, and behind-the-scenes experiences.
- Maintain high standards of animal health, husbandry, water quality, and habitat upkeep.
- Keep detailed electronic records and assist with the identification of health concerns.
- Collaborate closely with veterinary, water quality, education, and operations teams.
- Assist in the training of new employees and the development of new guest programs.
- Perform daily dive requirements (training provided if needed).
What We’re Looking For:
- At least one year of experience in animal husbandry; experience training animals in a show or educational setting highly preferred.
- Degree in wildlife biology, marine biology, or a related field preferred.
- Strong background with freshwater/saltwater aquariums, reptiles, amphibians, birds, or small mammals.
- Certification in First Aid/CPR, Emergency O2, and AED (or willingness to obtain).
- Open Water SCUBA Certification (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
- Strong communication skills, teamwork, and decision-making abilities.
- Comfort working a flexible schedule that may include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
