JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Interpreter at the Environmental Learning Center in all capacities including but not limited to park administrative duties. Assist with the management of staff and interns. Assist with the development of the overall educational and interpretive services. Interprets the cultural and natural resources of the State Park Service to park visitors. Assist with community and volunteer programs, workshops and activities. Maintaining Customer Service experience in the Exhibit Hall.  Collect fees for admission/programs.  General upkeep of the Facilities, including classroom, conference room, exhibit hall, restroom and surrounding areas.  Maintains a safe work environment. Assist in resource management around the park. Promote teamwork within Edisto Beach State Park.

MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience, along with working knowledge of coastal ecosystems.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Position requires medium to heavy lifting, walking and standing on uneven terrain, crawling and working at heights. Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning agents and other materials used in maintaining park facilities and grounds.  Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.  Must possess or be able to obtain a valid South Carolina Driver's License.
