The Department of Biology at Lipscomb University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in zoology or botany with a focus on environmental biology or ecology. The candidate would contribute to both undergraduate and graduate teaching. The major focus of this position is excellence in teaching. The candidate must have a strong and active commitment to the Christian mission and values of Lipscomb University. The position starts in the 2025-2026 academic year beginning August 1, 2025. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, including courses in animal biology, ecology, and/or environmental biology.
  • Mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Mentor students in independent environmental biology research projects and collaborate across disciplines within the department and university for interdisciplinary initiatives
  • Engage in professional development and service activities, including participation in departmental, college, and university committees.
  • Contribute to community outreach and public engagement in environmental and biological issues.
