The Northern Colorado Plateau Network is hiring seasonal biotechs for the 2025 field season, which is from April-mid October. Our office is located in Moab, Utah. During the field season, crew members will have the opportunity to travel and work in up to 9 different National Park units. 
Spend your summer counting, measuring, and identifying plants for the National Park Service! Ideal candidates are enthusiastic about botany, hiking in remote locations, and camping for up to a week at a time. We are looking forward to having some new folks join our team this year and introduce them to our favorite plants and places to work. 

Job Duties:

  • Collecting plant, soil, and geomorphology data using established network monitoring protocols.
  • Accurately identifying vegetation to the species level in the field or office using standard floras.
  • Conducting fieldwork in remote backcountry settings and under difficult conditions in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Entering data and following quality assurance procedures to ensure accurate data transcription into established databases.
  • Maintaining field and camping equipment.
