The Klamath Bird Observatory (KBO) is seeking a Bird Banding Intern to contribute to its long-term landbird monitoring program in the Klamath-Siskiyou Bioregion of southern Oregon. This intensive field internship, designed in accordance with North American Banding Council (NABC) standards, offers hands-on training in mist netting, bird banding, surveying, data management, and public outreach. Interns will gain valuable experience in field biology while living in a rustic cabin near Upper Klamath Lake, with access to hiking, birding, biking, and kayaking opportunities. Weekly site visits will require multi-night camping trips and strenuous hikes. Compensation includes shared housing and a stipend of $500 bi-weekly. Candidates should have a strong interest in birds, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in remote conditions.
