The Camp Property Operations Coordinator works as part of a small team that is accountable for ensuring the usability, safety, and security of Girl Scouts of Western Washington's Camp Robbinswold property and on-site facilities by assisting with all maintenance activities, natural resource and forestry management activities, and by providing hosting services to site users in support of the Camp Property Operations Manager. This role delivers a quality camp experience through excellent customer service and requires the ability to work a varied and flexible schedule that includes weekend, overnight, and on-call hours as required. Overnight accommodations will be provided as needed.

This is a regular, full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt role. Work is conducted on-site at Camp Robbinswold, located on the Hood Canal in Lilliwaup, WA. Residency in Washington State is required. While the full pay range for this position is $25.30 to $27.74 per hour, This position will start at $25.30 per hour for purposes of internal pay equity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Site Hosting: Oversees property specific site hosting processes and procedures; Facilitates group orientation and facility training; Coordinates on-site readiness process for events and user groups, including supervision of user groups; Facilitates collaboration between GSWW event leads, the Site Reservation Manager, and on-site property staff; Provides access to reserved facilities to site users; Cleans and restocks facilities before and after site user check-in/check-out; Responds to emergent maintenance requests; Manages the scheduling, coordination, and training of volunteer camp hosts; Provides on-call, overnight, and weekend coverage
  • Under direction of the Camp Property Operations Manager, carries out assigned maintenance tasks to ensure facilities, grounds, systems, and equipment meet health, safety, regulatory, and organization standards and support program needs.
  • Provides supervisory support for DOC contracted labor, AmeriCorps crews, and volunteer maintenance groups and camp hosts.
  • Supports the assessment and reporting of on-site safety and work progress according to DOC labor, AmeriCorps, and other grant contract requirements.
  • Provides after-hours response necessary for on-site incidents and emergencies, completing documentation per GSWW incident reporting procedures.
  • Assists in maintaining current site documentation, including maintenance logs, septic records, inventory, and invoicing as directed.
  • Develops and maintains positive professional relationships with staff, volunteers, youth participants, neighbors, community groups, government agencies, and the business community to facilitate smooth property operations and program activities.
  • Assists with vendor coordination and management as directed by the Camp Property Operations Manager.
  • Attends all staff meetings, property/program group meetings, and provides logistics/documentary support for the department.
  • Conducts regular security inspections of site and facilities, updating camp maintenance needs list annually.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective interactions with individuals at all levels and backgrounds, with the ability to work under pressure and resolve complaints.
  • Comfortable working in a camp setting with a variable work week and hours, including on-call, overnight, and weekend responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize project tasks and deadlines, work independently and collaboratively, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with the development and administration of work plans and budgets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs. and physical stamina to work throughout camp, including rough terrain and extensive hills
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round in aquatic and forestland habitats, in all weather conditions
  • Proficient in safely operating power tools and equipment, including chainsaws, trimmers, grinders, lawn mowers, and general shop tools.
  • Skilled in safely operating utility vehicles, tractors, and both powered and non-powered marine crafts.
  • Ability to work safely in cramped spaces, on ladders and on roofs of various heights.
  • Ability to safely handle chemicals, including paints, sealers, solvents, and cleaning supplies.
  • Commitment to supporting and enhancing the diversity and cultural and global awareness of volunteers, girls and staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not supervise employees, but provides supervisory support to volunteers, contractors, and vendors on an as needed basis.

Education and Experience Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in construction, hospitality, natural resources, recreation management, or other relevant field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience with property, facility, natural resources, recreation, and trade skills including equipment maintenance, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and janitorial.
  • Experience supervising or working with volunteers and contract labor or managing/leading teams.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Qualifications

  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule with varied hours, including on-call, overnight, and weekend shifts.
  • Required to stay on-site when providing overnight coverage, with accommodations provided as needed.
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license, proof of insurance, vehicle in working condition and the ability to fulfill travel requirements in a timely manner throughout Western Washington
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain upon employment
  • Satisfactory results from criminal background check
  • Commitment to the Girl Scout mission and willingness to maintain Girl Scout membership
