The Clinton County Soil & Water Conservation District is accepting applications for a full time Conservation District Technician to assist the District in the planning, coordinating and implementation of a variety of natural resource conservation related projects in Clinton County, NY

Applicant should have a good knowledge of conservation practices as they relate to water quality on farm and forest operations. Experience with agriculture, forestry, hydrology and developing conservation plans and/or implementing BMPs is a plus. Good communication skills, planning skills, agricultural, forestry and/or technical background required.

The incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Conservation District Manager and Soil & Water District Board of Directors. The Clinton County Soil and Water Conservation District is looking for a self-motivated individual, knowledgeable, and experienced in natural resources and water quality issues. Field work is a requirement of the position. Forest conservation planning, project management, and GIS mapping skills preferred.

Minimum Qualifications: A) Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, mechanical or civil engineering technology, natural resource conservation, forestry, agriculture, or related field; or B) Associate’s degree and 1 years of related experience; or C) high school diploma with 2 years of equivalent of training and experience.The salary ranges from $42,000.00 to $50,000.00 per year based on education and prior work experience. Benefits include Health Insurance, Annual Leave, Sick Leave and enrollment in the NYS Retirement System.Valid NYS

NYS Drivers License and Clinton County residency required at time of hire.
