JOB OVERVIEW:
Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact on natural resource conservation? We’re seeking a leader to oversee our conservation programs related to the Land Preservation & Natural Resources division. From our volunteer stewards program to advancing ecological research, managing geospatial communications, and ensuring sustainable water resources and wetland mitigation, this role is at the forefront of preserving and promoting our natural treasures. You’ll also oversee recreational hunting and fishing programs, blending outdoor adventure with environmental stewardship.
What are we looking for? We are looking for an individual with considerable knowledge in the area ecological principles, Midwest natural communities, and natural history. Additionally, Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) from four-year college or university in conservation biology, ecology, zoology, or a natural resource related field; minimum of seven (7) years of previous work-related experience related to participating in natural resource management work in some capacity and five (5) years of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- The Conservation Ecology manager oversees a professional staff including a Systems Analyst, Database Specialist and Ecologists specializing in Plant, Wildlife, Research, Working Lands, and Volunteer Stewardship. - What is your personal philosophy regarding parks and conservation? How do you integrate this philosophy into your work and decision-making processes to ensure the sustainability and accessibility of natural resources?
- This position manages and reports on a variety of ecological restoration, research, and water resources projects including wetland mitigations and grants. Please describe your approach to project management and experience level managing projects, including specific examples such as deliverables, budget, personnel, and contractor oversight.
