The Corporate Development Manager supports Leave No Trace’s mission by building and maintaining relationships with partners, constituents, the public, and media. This role involves cultivating, onboarding, and managing partnerships across all levels, assisting with communications, developing and and overseeing budgeted fundraising events under the direction of the Director of Corporate Development. The ideal candidate is deeply committed to protecting the outdoors, thrives in a team-oriented environment, and excels in taking responsibility for their role. Success in this position requires being detail-oriented, self-motivated, highly organized, and an effective communicator, capable of managing diverse tasks within the Corporate Development team.
Position Title: Corporate Development Manager
Reports to: This role reports to the Director of Corporate Development and collaborates closely with the Deputy Director, Marketing Manager, and Education Staff.
FLSA Status: Full Time (40 hours/week), Exempt
This position is based in Boulder, CO, with a hybrid work environment requiring regular in-office days at Leave No Trace’s Boulder location.
Position Responsibilities:
General Programmatic Support:
- Collaborate with the Director of Corporate Development to develop and execute an outreach plan for identifying and contacting potential partners.
- Manage communication between the corporate partner program and Leave No Trace’s marketing and communications team, ensuring effective engagement of corporate partners with Leave No Trace campaigns and programs.
- Oversee the Corporate Program’s CRM system to manage partner communication, including maintaining accurate partner records and communication lists.
- Manage all invoicing, tracking, and billing processes for partners and fundraisers, ensuring timely and accurate financial operations.
- Assist in managing the Leave No Trace Ambassador program, including developing and creating ambassador training materials and summit events.
- Spearhead trade show logistics and coordination, including identifying which trade shows to attend and determining the level of participation. Maximize trade show impact through effective presentations, communications, and on-site engagement.
- Assist corporate development to meet the organizations DEIA goals, utilizing the strategies designed in the corporate operational plan.
- Sit on the Leave No Trace DEIA committee as the corporate partnerships representative.
Account Management:
- Develop and execute fundraising strategies to achieve and expand the organization’s fundraising goals. Oversee activations from planning through completion.
- Write and edit tailored content for partners, including social media posts, blogs, and newsletters, while ensuring partner needs are effectively communicated to the marketing and communications team for timely fulfillment.
- Manage the Annual Leave No Trace Auction and other fundraising efforts.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Three to five years experience in development, fundraising, sales, or a related role.
- Personable and comfortable building relationships with partners in-person and virtually, with the ability to craft proposals and partnership materials.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams to align partner needs with organizational goals.
- Proficient in using CRM systems to track partner engagement and generate reports.
- Passion for environmental conservation and Leave No Trace principles.
Preferred Experience:
- Demonstrated success in managing fundraising initiatives or hitting sales targets.
- Experience creating and delivering customized partnership or customer proposals.
- Previous experience with budgeting and financial tracking for partnerships or fundraising.
- Familiarity with sustainability, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and or outdoor industry trends.
- Experience coordinating corporate involvement in events, campaigns, or trade shows.
Position Conditions:
- This position may be required to lift up to 35lbs with reasonable accommodation available.
- Candidates will be required to be in person at the Boulder, CO office a minimum of three days/week.
- This role requires about 15% travel and 15% event support.
