Sustainable Northwest is hiring a digital media manager to grow and deepen its digital footprint and impact– reaching new audiences and deepening relationships with existing audiences. They will work across all conservation programs to identify stories and create compelling content to be shared on our website, social media channels, and e-newsletters. The right candidate is digitally savvy, has a nose for news and good stories, has experience with digital media campaigns, and can take a story from beginning to end– initial idea to content creation to posting to measuring results. They will also help Sustainable Northwest leverage and repurpose its vast video and photo archives into social media or other online content.To be successful, the person in this position will enjoy working simultaneously on multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment, where the abilities to rise to a challenge, show initiative, exercise independent judgment, and maintain focus are essential. Strategic thinking and an exceptional level of attention to detail are also key.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute strategy to increase outreach to key audiences on digital platforms (social, web, e-newsletter). Audiences include rural and Tribal communities, donors, partner organizations, public agencies, government officials, and businesses.
- Identify, develop, and produce creative and strategic stories (written and visual) for social, web, and e-news.
- Collaborate with staff across teams, job functions, and geographies to align social media content and presence with organizational priorities and values.
- Research and draft compelling, polished written content for social media, website, blog, and e-newsletter.
- Develop and design visual content for digital media (leveraging photos, existing video, and other creative tools).
- Develop an editorial calendar for digital media channels.
- Track and report progress via metrics.
- Managephoto drive and archives.
- Identify and leverage the best tools to make digital media content development and posting– and management– efficient.
- Workwith vendors/other parties to execute projects/deliverables.
- Contribute to internal communication to ensure that staff and board members are well-informed about organizational activities and achievements.
- Incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion into communications strategies and implementation to advance equitable outcomes internally and externally.
- Workwithin a budget to complete assigned projects or work.
- Opportunity to act independently on assigned tasks.
- Asnewstaff members get hired, onboard them to communications department tools and processes.
- Support department administrative needs as appropriate.
