MCHT is dedicated to advancing the conservation of lands and waters in Maine and is currently seeking a Director of Development. This role offers a chance to shape philanthropy efforts and drive significant growth. As a leader on MCHT’s fundraising team, you’ll craft and execute a strategic development plan, manage major donor relationships, and collaborate as a fundraising thought partner with senior leadership. This role is hybrid and flexibly based out of any one of their four offices in Topsham, Rockport, MDI, and Whiting, Maine.

The Opportunity:
MCHT is seeking a passionate and skilled Director of Development to lead their philanthropy efforts and help them reach new heights in their mission. If you are someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is motivated by making a meaningful impact, this role is for you.
What You'll Do:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including annual and capital campaigns, to support conservation goals.
- Team Leadership: Guide and inspire a fantastic team of fundraisers, setting clear performance metrics and fostering a collaborative, supportive and innovative environment.
- Major Gifts: Cultivate and manage relationships with major donors, aiming for significant contributions and making sure they’re as excited about the mission as the rest of the team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership and board members, and coordinate with conservation colleagues to implement effective fundraising strategies and bring innovative fundraising ideas to life.

How and Where You Will Work:
Work is performed in a normal office environment not subject to extremes of noise, temperature, odor, etc. Operates computer, printer, and other office equipment. Significant offsite travel is required.
MCHT has offices in Topsham, Rockport, MDI, and Whiting, Maine; the location of this position is flexible. The organization has a hybrid work model with 2 office days and 3 home days. No matter your office location, you will work once a month in Topsham to connect and collaborate with the team who sits here.

A few details:
This is a permanent, full-time position with a generous benefits package including insurance, vacation and sick time, 14 paid holidays and a retirement plan. The annual starting salary range for this role is $104,000 to $130,000 and will depend upon experience.
