We’re seeking a dynamic full-time Director of Outdoor Aquatics and Retreats to oversee our outdoor pool and waterfront activities while supporting retreats and conferences. This is more than a job—it’s a mission to empower youth, celebrate the great outdoors, and uphold the YMCA’s values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith.

What You’ll Do:

Aquatics Leadership:

• Oversee all outdoor pool and waterfront operations, ensuring safety and fun go hand-in-hand.
• Recruit, train, and manage lifeguards and aquatics staff to maintain the highest standards.
• Design engaging aquatic programs, from swimming lessons to water games, that make a splash with      participants.
• Provide leadership and support to the operations of all summer camp programming
• Develops and controls department budgets related to the position.
• Seek partnerships within our community and schools to advance the mission of the Y
• Conduct routine maintenance checks and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Retreats & Conferences:

• Collaborate with the team to create seamless, meaningful experiences for retreat and conference groups.
• Assist with programming, logistics, and guest services to make every event a success.
• Budget development and financial support to departments and camp
• Philanthropic responsibilities to camps annual campaign. 

Youth & Outdoor Programming:

• Develop and lead outdoor and adventure-based activities that inspire youth to explore, grow, and      connect with nature.
• Serve as a role model, instilling leadership skills, environmental stewardship, and a love for the outdoors.

Team Leadership:

• Build a motivated, mission-driven team that shares your passion for making a difference.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment that celebrates the YMCA mission and values

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications:

• Strong background in aquatics, with certifications as a trainer in lifeguarding, water safety instruction, swim lessons and CPR/First Aid (or ability to obtain upon hire) with preference in YMCA certifications. 
• Certified Pool Operator License (or ability to obtain upon hire)
• 2-4 Years proven leadership experience in camp, aquatics, or youth development settings.
• A knack for organizing and facilitating outdoor activities and events.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with youth, staff, and guests.
