The AmeriCorps Individual Placement positions (ages 18-30) are based at various locations in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Under the direct guidance of a project supervisor, the Specialist will assist with a variety of projects to expand the capacity and reach of the partner agency. Drill Core Library Inventory and Curation Specialist (Hibbing, MN)
Dates: February 3 - December 12 2025
Housing: Not provided. Member will need to secure own housing near site location.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

Position Summary:
The Drill Core Library Inventory and Curation Specialist serves alongside Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) staff in geological professionals. The position is focused on helping develop the Specialist’s professional skill sets while providing expertise and valuable contributions to the host site. The Specialist will learn hands-on skills in the work of managing the Drill Core Library. The Specialist will assist with drill core collection, intake, and curation. The program may require the member to engage in other allowable activities that are not specifically outlined in the position description, but that support the AmeriCorps program design and help the program meet its goals.
Requirements:
- 18-30 years old.
- Must be a US Citizen, US National or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien of the US.
- Must pass the National Sex Offender Public Registry and criminal history check. “Pass” is defined as no positive hits on the NSOPR and no history of violent offenses on the criminal history check.
- Full term of service must be completed in order to receive the education award.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record (no major moving violations or DUI’s in the past five years).
