Position Summary The Education and Community Engagement Coordinator plays an integral role in engaging and supporting meaningful experiences for Wolfe’s Neck Center Farm Camp families, visitors, members, and program attendees. Reporting to the Director of Visitor Education and Experience, the Coordinator’s responsibilities include working with camp families leading up to and during the Camp season, and providing assistance for Public and Visitor Experience Programs. They will also work closely with the Advancement team to promote Wolfe’s Neck Center’s membership, member events, and communication. The Coordinator role requires a high level of customer service to support key external stakeholders. This is a new and exciting opportunity for an early-career professional with educational programming experience, skills in in-person and written communication, relationship and project management, and event or education program support. The goal of this role is to help deepen the engagement and enhance the experience of visitors to our campus in Freeport, Maine.

Responsibilities

Farm Camp - 60% of time:

  • Act as primary customer service point of contact for Farm Camp families (i.e., participant guardians) by fielding emails, phone calls, and manage camper registrations and changes.
  • Provide daily support during the Farm Camp season (13+ weeks) as directed by Farm Camp managers including being point of contact for parents and guardians, camper help, and other support as needed.
  • Command of Farm Camp processes and systems (e.g., health forms, waitlists, etc) to be able to build and navigate systems to obtain needed information and communicate with families.
  • Support communications to camper guardians leading up to registration and Camp weeks in partnership with the Communications and Farm Camp teams.

Visitor Education & Experience - 20% of time

  • Provide support for Public Programs as needed supporting and teaching field trips, education programs, and occasional weekend program support.
  • Supporting Visitor Experience programs as needed and identified by the Director of Visitor Education and Experience Participate and provide input on annual planning process for both the Advancement (Communications and Development) and Visitor Education and Experience teams.

Membership - 20% of time

  • With direction from the Events Manager, support the planning and delivery of four (quarterly) member events annually.
  • Support quarterly membership updates in partnership with the Communications team (Advancement).
  • Develop recommendations for strategies to more deeply engage member communities and expand outreach, especially through Public Programs, Farm Camp families and campground visitors.
  • Serve as the on-site face of membership by facilitating the implementation of membership outreach and engagement plan to core visitor segments.

  • Minimum two years related experience in education programs, summer camps or related customer service.
  • Experience in a nonprofit setting is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft, Google Suites, MailChimp, databases, and other systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Orientation to best-in-class customer service and relationship building.
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative team player that is able to navigate ambiguity and seek solutions.

Requirements

  • Legally able to work in the United States (we cannot provide VISA sponsorship) The Community Engagement Coordinator is an on-site position at Wolfe’s Neck Center in Freeport, ME. There is no required travel expected for this role.

Benefits:

$45,000 - $55,000 a year

The Education and Community Engagement Coordinator is a full-time position based at Wolfe’s Neck Center in Freeport, ME. As a full-time employee of Wolfe’s Neck Center, this position is eligible for benefits including employer-paid health insurance premiums, dental insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and our retirement savings plan. Compensation commensurate with experience.
