This person will join the Education team to assist/lead education programs, public Science-On-A-Sphere presentations and daily activities at the Bay Education Center in Rockport, Texas. This position is up to 19 hours a week and is a flexible schedule. During the months of May through July, this person may work 40 hrs. a week due to staffing needs.  We are looking for a bright, friendly person with education experience to join our team! 

Position duties require work in Rockport, TX and Port Aransas, Tx.

  • Assist/lead public onsite programs, fieldtrips, and outreach education programming for audiences of all ages.
  • Lead public Science On a Sphere presentations for all audiences. Including daily Science On a Sphere presentations at 2:00 PM and scheduled field trips.
  • Assist with daily activities during operating hours. Duties include opening and closing Bay Education Center, greeting visitors, answering public questions, giving daily Science On a Sphere presentations, brainstorming ideas for future public education programming, checking visitor exhibit scavenger hunts, wiping down the exhibit room at the end of the day.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • 19-hour work shift spread throughout a Tuesday – Saturday work week from 10am – 4pm. A six-hour work shift is required on Friday and Saturday, with the rest of the 19 hours used during the workweek. Days depend on the person hired.
