This position will perform a wide range of data management and program analytic duties in support of the District’s invasive and nuisance species management program. The incumbent will assist with data management, programmatic analysis and reporting across a broad range of activities related to invasive species management and biological monitoring. The incumbent will perform assignments at a moderate to high level of complexity. The incumbent will serve as the program’s primary data steward for program data. This will include management of the invasive plant treatment database (AVATAR) and coordinating its use with software support staff and internal and external customers. The incumbent will collaborate with team members on a variety of data management and analysis assignments related to data management, and program operations, and communicate information tables, graphs, reports, and presentations.
The incumbent must have advanced understanding of data organization and analysis and knowledge of geospatial, data management, and statistics software. Strong skills in spreadsheet management (primarily Excel), creation and manipulation of pivot tables and charts is required. Familiarity with R statistical programming is preferred. Familiarity of environmental science, South Florida ecosystems, and invasive species management is preferred. The incumbent must be detail oriented, organized, and able to lead a team efficiently or work independent of other support. The incumbent must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to plan and self-manage heavy workloads; enthusiasm; and a willingness and commitment to actively contribute to a collaborative teamwork effort.
Applicants must have an education background and/or practical work experience in data management, demonstrated ability to analyze data.
