Are you ready to take the next step and start building or expanding your foundation in environmental education, outdoor education, and animal husbandry?
Seasonal Instructors facilitate a wide range of environmental, outdoor, and experiential education programs, including lake ecology, herpetology, canoeing, team building, high ropes, and the challenge course. Other duties include animal care (raptors, reptiles and amphibians), program development, and general maintenance of the facilities. Positions are available during the spring (mid-February to mid-May), summer (mid-May to mid-August), and fall (mid-August to mid-December).
We offer residential and nonresidential instructor positions. Residential instructors are offered an hourly pay of $12 an hour (paid biweekly) and fully furnished staff housing. For non-residential staff pay is $14 per hour (paid biweekly). All staff go through an extensive 15-day staff educational training program, including animal care, an Alabama boating license online course (with reimbursement), Red Cross lifeguard certification, and CPR/first aid certification.
Applicants must have a college degree in a science-related field, a genuine interest in children and teaching, a positive attitude, an outgoing personality, well-developed communication skills and leadership abilities.
