The Baird Creek Preservation Foundation seeks one paid seasonal intern (approximately 30-35 hours per week for 9-10 weeks), starting mid-end of May 2025 through early August, to assist education staff in running summer camps and other programs in the Baird Creek Greenway. Set camp hours will be Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm with a lunch break. There will be the possibility of helping with school field trips scheduled for May, as well as other programs on Fridays and evenings during the week. Please note that this is a paid summer hire/internship. Salary is $14.00 per hour.
 
Specific Education Intern (Camp Leader) Tasks can include:

  • Work together to prepare, lead, and coordinate daily camp activities, which may include arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor games, enrichment activities, service-learning opportunities, etc.
  • Follow lesson plans.
  • Guide appropriate camper behavior and hands-on outdoor education
  • Ensure the safety of all participants
  • Relationship building skills with school-aged children (K-6th grade) and their families
  • Working in collaborative with the Education Coordinator
  • Following directives from the Education Coordinator
  • Cleanup of facility at end of day

Successful candidates will be outgoing, adaptable, creative, have a willingness to be outdoors, and have reliable transportation. Must be able to hike 2+ miles per day through uneven terrain.
