Anticipated Seasonal Employment is April 1 - December 15, 2025
Location: Northeast Region - Colville, WA
Work Hours flexibility may be available and considered
Salary: $3643.00 - 4865.00 Monthly
Responsibilities:
- Assist engineers in the survey and layout of forest road projects and public works contracts.
- Assists engineers with project compliance of public works and heavy equipment projects.
- Inspections of bridges, culverts, gates, cattleguards, and forest roads for needed maintenance or repairs.
- Manages the logistics of transportation of the heavy equipment operator and equipment to projects.
- Previewing job sites before entry, and delivering required materials to the site.
- Maintains inventory of culverts, temporary bridges, pumps, chainsaws, and other equipment.
- Ensures repairs are completed and the necessary documentation is completed.
- Attends staff meetings, trainings, and safety meetings. Work safely, use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, and report any safety concerns.
- Completes required documents for payroll using Time & Activity Reports (TAR), record daily vehicle mileage or hours using the Metered Equipment Reporting form (MER), and fills out Initial Incident Reports (IIR) for vandalism, theft, dumping, accidents, etc.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Two years of experience working on forest road maintenance or road construction projects.
- Experience in reading maps and finding sites from maps using a GPS.
- Experience in the use of chainsaws.
- Proficient in using computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to drive unmarked and unsigned primitive roads.
- Ability to track and monitor inventoried items.
- Understanding of logging and construction equipment. Including capabilities and uses, and the time it takes to perform tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
