REPORTS TO:              Director of Grant Administration

POSTION STATUS:      Exempt

SUMMARY

The Grant Accounting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the grant accounting functions for the organization.  The position will lead the grant accounting staff and ensure applicable accounting and grant standards are applied to the financial oversight of the Organization’s government and foundation grants and contracts.  These activities support the Organization’s mission by providing partnership support of government funded projects, which currently exceed $60 million annually.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direct supervision and training of grant accounting staff.
  • Provide direction to staff on daily grant accounting workflow and department priorities.
  • Ensure compliance with government reporting and contract provisions as well as the Organization’s accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the maintenance and enhancement of the Organization’s accounting software package to meet reporting needs.
  • Assist with identifying and implementing training for the grant accounting staff.
  • Assist with month end closing, account reconciliations and preparation of monthly financial statements and departmental financial reports.
  • Assist with the preparation of documents for the annual Federal Single and Financial Statement audits.
  • Provide direct financial administration of agreements as needed.
  • Assist with annual budgeting of grant-related revenue and expenses.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four-year degree in Accounting, OR three years of direct governmental grant administration experience.
  • Previous direct supervision or leadership experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a non-profit organization.
  • Minimum three years’ experience working with government grant accounting.
  • Working knowledge of government grant standards, including 2 CFR 200.
  • Demonstrated ability in providing a high level of internal and external customer service.
  • Previous experience compiling a Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards preferred.

  • Work from a home office
  • Overnight travel for conferences, national team and other staff meetings, Pheasant Fest, trade shows and other partner events ~ 5% travel annually

  • Tools and equipment listed are some of the typical tools and equipment; other equipment/software may be used as needed: 
    • Laptop computer – proficient in Excel
    • Microsoft Dynamics – Great Plains
    • Sharepoint

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary range $70,000 - $90,000 (Commensurate with qualifications and experience)
