Introduction: Join our team at the Michigan Association of Conservation Districts, where we are dedicated to supporting conservation districts throughout Michigan. We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Grant Administrator to manage and oversee all aspects of grant processes. This position reports directly to the Executive Director. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the lifecycle of grants, including identifying opportunities, proposal writing, compliance, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with workgroups of Conservation Districts and partners to develop grant proposal budgets and narratives.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with grantor guidelines and requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all grant-related activities.
  • Prepare financial or progress reports as required by grantors.
  • Coordinate and communicate with grantors and stakeholders regarding grant activities.
  • Perform member services tasks, including responding to inquiries, managing communication, and maintaining member relations.
  • Stay updated on trends and changes in grant policies in the conservation and environmental sectors.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in grant writing and administration, preferably in the non-profit or local government sector.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, bookkeeping, and reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of accountability and competence in a remote work environment. 

Preferred:

  • Background in conservation, environmental sciences, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Conservation, Business Administration, or a related field.
