SUMMARY: As a professional Restoration Construction Manager, perform professional environmental, fisheries, or related resource biological analysis and coordination, conducts surveys, assist with the coordination of enhancement and management plans, and provide technical consultative services in specialty areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Serve as the Tribal Natural Resource lead, working in collaboration with regional partners to identify, propose, and fund habitat restoration projects within the Tribe's Usual and Accustomed Area (U&A), with a primary focus on the restoration of the Deschutes River. 
  • Provide expert-level technical support in drafting and reviewing restoration planning documents.
  • Provide technical support in the development and review of local, state, and federal permits.
  • Assist construction managers from other agencies with the Deschutes Estuary restoration.
  • Serve as the project lead for Tribal-led restoration projects.
  • Identify, develop, and implement habitat data collection and monitoring projects that benefit natural resources.
  • Monitor physical stream habitat parameters and channel conditions throughout the Tribes U&A.
  • Conduct field inventories of fish and wildlife populations to assess habitat usage before and after construction.
  • Deliver presentations and recommendations for Department and policy personnel to support the development of Tribal policy positions
  • Effectively communicate with senior biologist on a regular basis.
