JOIN OUR RESTORATION TEAM!

TEP is accepting applications for a Habitat Restoration Project Manager and a Habitat Restoration Project Coordinator.  We have funding to hire one of these positions.  TEP prefers to hire for the Project Manager (PM) position, but we understand that it can be difficult to get the specific work experience to qualify for the job.  So, we are also offering a Project Coordinator (PC) position that is designed to give that experience.

You may only submit one application, so you must decide which position best fits your skills set.  Please read through the following carefully to increase your chances of being selected for an interview.

Here are a few primary differences between the positions:

Experience

  • PM - Candidates MUST have at least 5 years of experience in Project Management of habitat restoration, preferably in Pacific Northwest habitats. We anticipate that candidates will have several years of professional experience prior to working as a PM. Early career candidates should apply for the Project Coordinator position (see more details below).
  • PC - Candidates without 5 years of specific PM experience should apply for the PC position. PM training and experience with smaller projects will be provided on-the-job, with promotional opportunities to a PM role after 2-5 years of high performance.

Project size, scope, duration

  • PM - Project portfolio will include multi-year, large restoration projects ($500k - $20M).  Applicants MUST have experience in being the lead in most (preferably in all) of the following scopes of work: grant writing including budget development; landowner contacts; developing requests for proposals for engineering design consultants and construction contractors; contractor selection; project management; budget tracking; and grant reporting.
  • PC - Project portfolio will include smaller scale projects which can typically be implemented in a single year and with budgets typically under $100K. If you do not have specific experience being the lead in the project tasks highlighted above for the PM, even if you have transferable skills, you should apply for the PC position.

Tips for deciding to which position you should apply:

DO carefully read each job description to see which is the better fit for your work experience. You will only be able to submit application materials for one position. Increase your chances of receiving an interview by ensuring that you meet the minimum experience for the position you apply for.

DO carefully craft your Statement of Qualifications and Interest: these cover letters strongly influence our decisions to invite candidates for interviews.  Be sure to include all of the information we are requesting, otherwise we will consider your application incomplete.

DO feel free to contact TEP with any questions you might have about the positions, prior to the application deadline. Please email info@tbnep.org or call 503-322-2222.
