Employees will map and treat invasive plant species in high quality and highly threatened prairies in west central Minnesota. Work will take place on National Wildlife Refuge System Lands in the Detroit Lakes Wetland Management District, Glacial Ridge National Wildlife Refuge, and Rydell National Wildlife Refuge. This position provides excellent entry level skills and exposure to land management techniques.
Position is from May 19, 2025 - October 3, 2025.
Key duties and responsibilities include: mapping current extant of invasive plants on or near FWS lands, identifying plants (namely non-native/invasive species), operating ATVs/UTVs, operating brush saws, using backpack sprayers or other herbicide application tools.
