Job Overview
The National Bobwhite and Grassland Initiative Foundation (NBGIF), working closely with state wildlife agencies and partners, have been pioneers in collaborative habitat restoration for nearly three decades. We are seeking a State Delivery Specialist to join our team to assist with delivering conservation projects to landowners and producers through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). The selected candidate will be supervised remotely by the NBGIF RCPP Georgia Coordinator while working closely with Georgia DNR Private Lands Program biologists to advertise and enroll private landowners in conservation programs, primarily in Burke and Emanuel counties. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, be disciplined and able to meet work expectations without direct supervision and be interested in gaining experience in conservation on private lands. This full-time position includes both office and field work that varies through the year.
Key Responsibilities
- Support DNR biologists in enrolling landowners in RCPP program emphasizing northern bobwhite conservation
- Facilitate RCPP program requirements which includes, but is not limited to, enrolling landowners, designing conservation practices, digitally mapping practices, and certifying project completion
- Provide customer service to landowners during program enrollment, progress checks, and documentation of project completion
- Organize outreach events advertising RCPP objectives and eligibility requirements
- Assist research team with data collection as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- A BS degree in wildlife management, ecology, biology, natural resource management, or related field
- Strong communication skills and discipline to work effectively without direct supervision • Some knowledge of managing early successional ecosystems of the southeast and associated wildlife
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Familiarity with ArcGIS, database operations, and capable of learning new software
- Interest in gaining experience in private lands conservation delivery and NRCS cost-share programs
- Strong organizational skills for data entry and project tracking
Requirements
- Must be willing to live in Burke or Emanuel counties, or a neighboring county
- Must have reliable transportation, the foundation will reimburse required travel associated with the position
- Must have space and ability to work from home, including a reliable internet connection
