This seasonal, full-time position with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) is located at Bonneville Hatchery in Cascade Locks, OR.
The duration of this position will be from May 1, 2025 through October 31, 2025 (These are estimated dates. Length of season(s) may be shortened or extended depending on project needs, funding, or factors beyond the project’s control).
Play a part in providing healthy fish for Oregon! Perform fish culture duties to meet production goals and maintain equipment, grounds and buildings.
What you will do:
In this position, you will assist the hatchery staff with projects and duties necessary for successful hatchery operation. This will include helping with fish rearing, mowing lawns, cutting shrubs, weeding, and cleaning walkways and parking lots.
Primary duties for this position will be grounds maintenance related May through August. The primary duties will transition to assisting with fish culture activities Mid-August through October.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications are not established for this position; however, we are seeking applicants with the following experience or skills. Preference for interviews may be given to candidates with these skills and background:
- Ability to conduct work under a variety of weather conditions ranging from heat in summer to cold in winter.
- Experience with fish or hatcheries.
- Experience with landscaping and grounds maintenance.
- Experience with equipment maintenance and repair.
- Comfortable with interaction with the public.

- The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%.
