This Role: The Project Manager identifies, develops and completes land transactions in southeastern Arizona in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Trust and its Land &  Water Program. This is a pivotal position on the Trust’s team, assisting the Program Manager to bring high priority land protection projects to completion. Specifically, the Project Manager is responsible for managing individual real estate transactions, including fee title and conservation easement projects, from initial conceptualization through landowner negotiations and due
diligence to final transaction closing and recordkeeping. They will also support the Program Manager with project planning, GIS mapping, grant administration, and outreach including developing and strengthening partnerships with landowners, government agencies, conservation organizations and funding sources. These partnerships further the Trust’s mission to plan, develop and implement conservation acquisitions protecting significant land and water resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Program Manager with all aspects of the Trust’s land and water program including:
• Extensive real estate transaction project planning, for both fee title and conservation easement acquisitions such as landowner negotiations, title review, site investigations, due diligence contractor supervision and implementation
• Create maps and related GIS products utilizing ESRI ArcPro for project evaluation and management as well as for Trust events and grant applications
• Draft conservation easement Baseline Documentation Reports and Property Management Plans with oversight from the Program Manager
• Draft legal documents, such aspurchase and sale agreements, option agreements, leases and conservation easements, finalized in partnership with Program Manager and legal counsel
• Obtain and review appraisals, surveys, environmental assessments, cultural and biological resource assessments, title reports and closing documents
• Track and maintain project records according to the Trust’s policies and to comply with the requirements of the IRS and Land Trust Alliance’s Standards and Practices
• Identify, apply for, and manage Federal, State and private foundation grantfunding opportunities for land protection projects along with general program support
• Support administration of project budgets and associated grant reporting
• Assist Program Manager with preparation and presentation of land and water transactions to the Trust’s Land and Water Committee and Board of Directors for approval
• Assist with Trust events including Ranching Into the Future workshops, fieldtrips, Saguaro Circle, and other donor‐centric activities as requested
• Assist program staff with all other areas of the Trust’s Programs as assigned
