Land Surveyor Chief of Parties, Wildlife

Salary: $6,384.00 - $8,584.00 Monthly

Responsibilities:

• This position is an expert on General Land Office (GLO) retracement, subdivision of sections, aquatic land boundaries, legal descriptions, and GIS Cadastre layer. 
• As chief of parties, this position supervises, schedules, and coordinates land survey field crews for DNR; land survey field crews are comprised of professional land surveyors and survey technicians providing land surveying and geospatial services within the agency. 
• This position also provides expert professional consultative advice and services relating to complex land survey problems and serves as an expert witness for court cases involving boundary lawsuits.

Required Qualifications: 

• Registration as a professional land surveyor by the Washington State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors 
  (BRPELS).
• Five years of land boundary surveying experience after registration as a Professional Land Surveyor, three years of which must be in BLM/General Land Office retracement and re-establishment land survey work.
• Experience with land surveying and mapping principles, procedures and practices, statutes, court decisions, and other laws pertaining to locating and dividing land; professional standards of land surveying, trigonometry, mapping, and drafting. 
• Experience supervising and training personnel to accomplish the highest order of land survey work, and exercise sound Independent judgment in solution of difficult land surveying problems. 
• Experience in AutoCAD and surveying software experience. Advanced understanding of GIS software and data management. 
• Write and speak clearly, concisely, accurately, and informatively.
