The CTWS John Day Watershed Restoration Program (Program) implements conservation and
restoration projects targeting watershed and habitat recovery for anadromous fish and other focal aquatic
species throughout the John Day River Basin. This position will work within the Program to develop and
lead the implementation of all fisheries and fisheries habitat monitoring efforts within the Program’s
purview. This position requires the ability to manage multiple monitoring projects, strong communication
skills, and a firm understanding of habitat requirements of anadromous salmonids in eastern Oregon/the
Pacific Northwest. The successful candidate will be experienced in implementing a variety of protocols
including habitat surveys, fish monitoring (i.e. PIT-tagging of juvenile salmonids and snorkel surveys),
vegetation surveys, macroinvertebrate collection, and topographic surveying. This position supervises up
to three biologists or technicians in the field and office.
