Contra Costa Resource Conservation District (CCRCD) seeks a highly motivated candidate to assist in environmental DNA (eDNA) sampling of restored livestock ponds in Contra Costa County to assess the success of the restoration in meeting conservation objectives (i.e. providing habitat for rangeland wildlife and threatened/endangered species). The expected length of this internship is between February and July 2025. Interns may continue beyond that, unpaid, to assist in analyzing and interpreting laboratory results, but it is not expected or required. This internship will mostly be in-person outdoors, sampling in the field with CCRCD staff and occasional remote work from a computer.
Through this paid internship opportunity, CCRCD intends to provide skills, knowledge, work and job experience to individuals historically underrepresented in the conservation field and individuals that are unable to freely provide their labor through an unpaid internship. Candidates that meet the minimum requirements are encouraged to apply as training and mentorship will beprovided through the course of this internship.
