Working closely with the Office Manager and Executive Director, this position will coordinate implementation of The Land Conservancy’s Membership Development program to ensure membership growth, retention and engagement.
Key activities of this position include:
- Primary Manage membership renewal, recruitment and retention program that includes: maintaining records, preparing and sending member appeals – both paper and electronic – and organizing the annual calendar for the membership program.
- Secondary Engage members more fully in TLC’s work by promoting event and volunteer opportunities, and coordinating donor and volunteer recognition programs.
We are looking for someone with demonstrated attention to detail, great organization skills, and a sincere interest in working with a diverse team at a local nonprofit.
- This position will report to the Office Manager, and will coordinate with the Executive Director.
- The position is eligible for paid time off, holiday pay based on hours worked, and a Simple IRA plan.
- Opportunity for flexible work schedule, with some in-office and some remote.
- Must have ability to work at some weekend and evening events
- This is a two-year position, with possible extension based on funding.
Required Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills, recordkeeping and attention to detail
- Demonstrated computer experience including MS Office programs (Word, Excel). Database experience very helpful (eg. Little Green Light, Salesforce), but will train the right candidate. Experience with Constant Contact or similar communication platform desired
- Genuine interest in and ability to relate to all kinds of people
- Self-motivated, ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Previous work with nonprofits a plus
Bi-lingual Spanish/English helpful

The Land Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Woodstock, Illinois. Established in 1991, we are an accredited land trust with a mission to preserve and steward McHenry County’s natural and agricultural lands. The Land Conservancy is a member-supported organization that works with private landowners who wish to permanently preserve their land through conservation and agricultural easements.
