Sea Center Texas has a new Hatchery Biologist position! This additional staff will join a growing team of 3 Biologists (Natural Resource Specialists) and 11 Technicians (Fish and Wildlife Technicians) at a saltwater fish hatchery operated by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Sea Center Texas produces red drum and spotted seatrout fingerlings in the warmer months and southern flounder in the cooler months. Our efforts contribute to the fishery by releasing young fish into the bay, called stock enhancement. Biologists here are responsible for all facets of production, from broodstock health and reproduction to egg incubation to pond management and fish harvests. Applied research is expected and published research is encouraged. State employees also have a very competitive benefits package!
