Position Summary:
CEMML is a research, education, and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University (CSU). CEMML applies the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense (DoD) and other public lands. We provide technical support, conduct applied research, and offer career development and learning opportunities to support resource stewardship. We collaborate with our sponsors and within CSU to resolve complex environmental issues.

A Natural Resources Biologist position is available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER).
Natural Resources Support for JBER Wildlife programs including: the Cook Inlet Beluga Program, the Harbor Porpoise Program, the Nuisance Wildlife Program, the Small Mammals Program, Hunting and Recreation Program, and the Forestry Program on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER).
This is an in-person position at JBER, some hybrid work may be available.
Work location is depended on the needs of the partner/project/role. In some instances, positions may require staff to be fully in-person. In other instances, hybrid or remote arrangements may be possible.
Required Qualifications:
• BS or BA degree in natural resources management, wildlife biology, environmental science, recreational management, or closely related field.
• At least one year in a full-time position in natural resources management.
• Experience working with federal and state agencies.
• Experience in more than one area of natural resources management (wildlife, vegetation, etc).
• Candidate should have a strong background in databases and website management.
• Excellent written and oral communications and customer service skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather and rugged terrain.
• Must be able to carry 50 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by the employment start date.
• The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
• The successful candidate must reside in the JBER / Anchorage, AK vicinity; Remote work is not available for this position Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for all new hires).
