This full time, permanent position is with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) located in Hines.

What you will do:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide clerical and customer support to staff and the public. Respond to questions about fish and wildlife laws, regulations and programs, or transfers to others for assistance. Occasionally issues live animal traps for animal damage complaints. Must occasionally handle dead animals, birds and fish (bobcats are tagged during trapping season). Collect cash from various tag and license sales.  Maintain and balance cash register to electronic licensing system (ELS) to ensure transactions are correct.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Qualifications:

Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR

An associate degree in any field; OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requested Skills:

  • Working in a fast-paced office with multiple priorities
  • Using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
  • Process invoices and related purchasing documents
  • Reviewing customer documents for authenticity and accuracy
  • Using a computerized point of sale machine and cash register
  • Sorting and shipping mail
  • Providing customer service
  • Experience and/or exposure working with fish and wildlife
