Position Description: Associate or Full Professor – Ohio Eminent Scholar of Ecology with a strong track record of research in ecosystem ecology or related fields. Study areas may include, but are not limited to, the effects and consequences of global change on ecological systems (e.g., effects of climate change, biodiversity loss, or habitat degradation); ecosystem processes (e.g., primary production, energy flow in food webs, carbon and nutrient cycling); coupled natural-human systems; and macrosystems ecology. The successful candidate is expected to maintain an internationally renowned, externally funded research program; provide leadership on large, collaborative research projects; effectively teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses as assigned; and participate in advising and service. The successful candidate will not currently have primary employment within the state of Ohio.

Appointment begins August 2025.

The Department of Biology has over 30 faculty committed to diversity and inclusive excellence in research and teaching.  The department offers undergraduate degrees in the biological sciences, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. degrees.  Biology is also an integral part of graduate degree programs in Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology and Cell, Molecular, and Structural Biology. Research and teaching are supported by outstanding core facilities, including the Ecology Research Center, the Center for Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics, the Center for Aquatic and Watershed Sciences, and the Center for Advanced Microscopy and Imaging.

Required: Ph.D. in Ecology, or closely related field.
