Sam Rayburn is the largest lake, wholly within the state of Texas at roughly 114,500 surface acres. We manage six class A campgrounds around the lake with six recreation areas and multiple outgrants to private concessionaires for marinas and campgrounds.

We also average between 1.2-1.6M visitors annually.

Park Rangers at Sam Rayburn engage with visitors through park patrol and are responsible for such programs as Shoreline Management, Invasive Species, Public Outreach, Water Safety, Wildlife and Habitat Management and various other programs.
