Great Works Regional Land Trust (GWRLT) seeks a Part-Time Development & Outreach Coordinator with a passion for the organization’s mission and vision, and with strong and varied communication skills to support the visibility of GWRLT programs and events. The Coordinator will contribute to the success of every other aspect of GWRLT’s work through collaboration with staff focused on fundraising, membership, grants, partnerships, and donor development. The Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and co-leads the Development Committee. This position has the ability to become full-time with the right applicant.

This position requires the ability to adapt to frequently changing roles and schedules with some tasks requiring more attention than others at certain times. This is meant to be a comprehensive list of applicable tasks and not exhaustive.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Research grants, foundations, and donors working with the Executive Director in the drafting of grant applications.
  • Assist in developing an outreach plan for the organization, including identification of donor prospects and opportunities for public exposure and engagement.
  • Assist the Executive Director and the Development Committee in other manners as GWRLT proceeds with planning and execution of a capital campaign tied into its 40th
  • Assist in generating donor communications, annual report, programming, general outreach, delegating to volunteers and collaborating with a team
  • Assist in creating printed, digital and social media content.
  • Assist networking and maintain regular correspondence with donors.
  • Drafts and distributes press materials and maintains contact with reporters
  • Assist in creating seasonal newsletters, (3) times per year, setting themes, assigning and collecting articles, capturing pictures, and developing drafts.
  • Update events & programming on the GWRLT website

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Applied understanding of basic fundraising principles and development best practices
  • Strong prospect identification and qualification skills
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing, and proofreading ability, graphic design
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and engagement and outreach
  • Experience with online fundraising, email marketing, and internet research
  • Preferred working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe Suite
  • Preferred working knowledge of Little Green Light, Canva, Constant Contact, Wordpress
  • Preferred experience with online fundraising, email marketing, and internet research

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
  • Minimum three years of Development Fundraising and/or non-profit experience
  • Previous management/volunteer/donor experience a plus
  • Prior experience in land conservation and/or outdoor education through either work or volunteering
  • Familiarity with the flora, fauna, and natural resources of southern Maine preferred

Compensation:

  • 20 Hour Flexible/Partial Remote Work Week, could occasionally include an event night or weekend event
  • $1000 Health Stipend, 80 hours PTO, 11 holidays
  • $30,000 - $35,000 per year
