HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSION
The Philanthropy Research Analyst II is responsible for identifying, researching, and analyzing information on prospective donors to inform philanthropy strategies and advance potential donor relationships. This position reports to the Associate Director of Philanthropy Research & Stewardship.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develops and synthesizes information on prospects
- Identifies new potential major and principal gift donors, and proactively tracks and disseminates donor and prospect information
- Produces donor reports, summaries, and analysis
- Qualifies, screens, and rates potential donors
- Participates in and facilitates prospect strategy and portfolio review meetings
- Maintains data integrity of the prospect management system, updates the fundraising database, and assigns prospects to philanthropy staff

The San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance Philanthropy team is excited to welcome analytical candidates with strong skills working in CRM database systems such as Blackbaud, Raiser's Edge and ResearchPoint to apply for the Philanthropy Research Analyst II position. - JOB EXPERIENCE
- Demonstrated research experience utilizing public and subscription based databases
- EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in English, Library Information Science, or related field or equivalent specialized training
- Current valid California Driver’s license in good standing
- SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Extensive prospect research strategies, methods, and techniques
- Prospect research company databases
- Fund-raising and databases
- Proficient analytical skills
- Communicate professionally (verbal and written)
- Handle confidential information in a sensitive manner
- Summarize extensive and diverse facts into useful information
- Compose correspondence
- Be proficient with details
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office, pc applications, word, excel and database
- Work well with others in a diverse environment
