JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Programs & Evaluation Analyst
Reports to: Chief Program Officer
Locations: Santa Rosa, Novato, and/or San Rafael offices
Employment Status: Exempt from wage and hour laws
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. Hybrid work schedule may be offered after 90 days of employment.
SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Chief Program Officer and with advising from the Director of Development & Communications, the Programs & Evaluation Analyst supports organizational effectiveness by ensuring data integrity, conducting program evaluation, and providing actionable insights to enhance program performance. The Analyst plays a key role in maintaining and improving CCNB’s data processes, conducting regular audits, analyzing program outcomes, and developing detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders. Collaborating with staff across departments, the Analyst supports grant development, budget tracking, and the creation of presentations and outreach materials. Additionally, this position partners with program staff to streamline data collection practices, track key success metrics, and ensure compliance with funding and certification requirements. The Analyst also contributes to organizational initiatives, policy development, and special projects to advance CCNB’s mission and strategic goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Data and Process Integrity
- Perform regular reviews of program-related data and processes, including outcomes reporting, participant tracking, safety practices, and more. Analyze findings, identify gaps or inconsistencies, and recommend actionable improvements.
- Work closely with cross-departmental teams to define and implement best practices for data collection and evaluation. Partner with program staff to update forms and streamline data tracking processes, ensuring compliance with funding and certification requirements.
- Train and support staff in the use of reporting tools and troubleshoot technical problems.
- Salesforce Database Management
- Oversees data management and quality assurance activities for Salesforce, CCNB’s client data management system, serving as account admin.
- Coordinates effective and efficient database protocols.
Program Departments Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze program data to provide insights and actionable recommendations.
- Create detailed internal and external reports using data, visuals, photos, and other relevant information to meet diverse stakeholder needs. Coordinate with staff from across the organization to gather, organize, synthesize, and present information required for reporting purposes.
- Support grant development by researching funding opportunities, analyzing eligibility requirements, and providing recommendations. Collaborate with staff to curate data, draft narratives, and review grant materials to ensure alignment with program goals and funder priorities.
- Work with program managers to track, forecast, and analyze budgets for grants and fee-for-service contracts, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
- Collaborate with program staff to define, measure, and track key success metrics, ensuring data-driven evaluation of program performance.
- Assist with budget management by conducting research, analyzing information, and providing summaries.
- Utilize program data, photos, and other information sources to create presentations and outreach materials.
Program Evaluation
- Under the advising of the Director of Development and Communications, plan and manage implementation of evaluation activities, projects and timelines.
- Track annual organization-wide programmatic outcome metrics.
- Prepare data summary tools for internal use, including results from annual Fiscal Year analysis, Semi Annual analysis, and Corpsmember Feedback Surveys.
- Prepare data summary tools and coordinates data sharing with external partners, such as John Muir Charter School, the California Conservation Corps, and The Corps Network and for CCNB’s annual certification.
- Provide analysis and feedback on project reports, highlighting “red flags” that may delay or challenge program implementation and grant fulfillment.
- Respond to data requests from throughout the organization.
Interdepartmental Coordination
- Support the Chief Program Officer and Director of Development & Communications in aligning staff efforts across departments to meet program requirements, goals, and strategic priorities.
- Engage in cross-departmental initiatives or committees to develop new programming models, refine current practices, and contribute to special projects that advance organizational objectives.
- Organize input from various departments to create and/or update organizational policies, procedural documents, and other staff resources.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals and priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

- Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, business, environmental studies, public policy, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- At least two years of professional experience in program coordination, program/performance evaluation, data analysis, research, or a related field, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
- At least one year of experience with Salesforce management required. Experience using Salesforce for data management, reporting, analysis, including generating and interpreting reports.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools, including ability to build pivot tables and visual displays.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data sets and translate findings into recommendations for program improvement. Experience creating data visualizations and reports to communicate complex information to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to set timelines, coordinate resources, and ensure successful delivery.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Attention to detail in managing recordkeeping and tracking
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with diverse stakeholders, including staff and program participants.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Commitment to CCNB’s mission and organizational values
- Familiarity with grant reporting and/or budget management is a strong plus but not required.
- Proficiency in Spanish, both written and verbal, is a strong plus but not required.
- Must have a valid CA driver’s license with a clean DMV record and ability to pass fingerprint clearance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to walk, use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation. There are normal office working conditions and associated physical demands. For example, on a continuous basis, sit at a desk using a computer and in meetings for long periods of time. Intermittently twist to reach equipment surrounding desk, as well as repetitive finger movements with office and computer machinery. May be expected to lift and move containers weighing up to 25 lbs.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The starting salary range for this position is $68,000-$72,000 annually. This is a full-time position which is eligible for a benefits package including employer sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision and Chiropractic care for the employee (dependents will be out of pocket), 403(b) plan with an employer match after one year of service, and a generous PTO plan with accruals starting at 18 days per year with an additional 11 paid holidays.
