Trillium ISM, INC practices invasive plant management and land restoration in New York State. We operate in parks, preserves and conserved land throughout the Hudson Valley region using many tools in a diverse array of habitats and take pride in the application our knowledge of natural habitats and communities to successfully implement a wide range of control and restoration techniques.
We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join us in the implementation of land restoration and invasive species control projects as a pesticide applicator and crew leader.
Responsibilities and duties include: crew management and task/duty delegation, logistics, shop maintenance, data tracking, field work (pesticide applications, hand removal and the use of machinery or power tools), equipment maintenance, procuring supplies and equipment, GPS/GIS work, report writing, client contact, and assisting with management plan development.
This is a permanent, full-time position that may require overtime, some weekend work and, rarely, overnight trips.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications.
Qualifications
Education:
- B.S. in Natural Resources, or equivalent.
- Licensed pesticide applicator in NYS.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience managing invasive plants.
- Knowledge of plants and their identification,
- Specific knowledge of invasive species both widespread and emerging in our region.
- Field identification of native plants.
- Knowledge and understanding of habitat communities in the Hudson Valley,
- Training and experience with pesticide applications, including, but not limited to:
- Pesticide handling, mixing and loading,
- Operation and maintenance of application equipment
- Operation and maintenance of pumps.
- Training and experience with small engine tools (chainsaw, brush saws, hedge trimmers, etc.).
- Training in first aid.
- Experience with small engine use and maintenance.
- Experience with ATV operation.
- Experience with field grade GPS (trimble and garmin) and GIS (ArcPro, Survey and Field Maps).
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to navigate steep slopes on uneven terrain while carrying a backpack weighing ~35lbs.
- Ability to work and hike for several hours in inclement weather
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Valid US driver’s license.
Compensation:
Hourly, $25-$40/hr; compensation commensurate with experience. Opportunity for overtime and bonus pay.
