Scheduling Assistant

We are looking for a detail-oriented part-time staffer to lead scheduling for Anacostia Riverkeeper’s public-facing events. Utilizing tools such as Constant Contact, Eventbrite, Smartwaiver, and Canva, this position will handle online scheduling and registration for public boat tours, cleanups, and fishing events. Additionally, this position will manage our info@ inbox, ensuring public requests & queries get answered in a prompt & friendly manner! This would be a great role for a college student with a light course load, or a recent graduate trying to get experience in the Environmental Non-Profit world! To succeed in this role, you should have excellent writing, organization, and communication skills.

This role will be up to 20 hours/week of primarily virtual work, however will be expected to periodically help staff in-person public events, which often take place on evenings and weekends.

Duties are as follows:

  • Monitor & respond to all public inquiries in our info@ email inbox
  • Manage registration for public events (Fishing, Boat Tours, Cleanups, etc) in Eventbrite, Smartwaiver, and Constant Contact
  • Respond & schedule requests for private boat tour & cleanup requests from schools, businesses, or other private groups. 
  • Regularly lead registration tables at boat fishing, cleanup, or other events. 
  • Assist staff with other programs as needed!

Qualifications:

  • Excellent digital literacy skills, including email etiquette
  • Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong self-efficacy & time management skills
  • Regular weekend & evening availability
  • Interest in local environmental issues! 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field (or working toward degree!)
  • Experience in Canva, Constant Contact, Eventbrite or other communication softwares.
  • Spanish language proficiency
