Logan Simpson has an immediate opening for a regular full-time Senior Biologist to work a hybrid schedule based out of our Tempe, Arizona office.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Serves as lead technical biologist on complex projects.
  • Conducts field surveys for threatened, endangered, and sensitive species.
  • Serves as project manager.
  • Implements business development and marketing strategies.
  • Prepares proposals and complex reports.
  • Manages project budgets.

Position Requires:

  • Proven experience and technical expertise working in environmental compliance related to biological resources.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Studies, or closely-related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant consulting or federal or state agency experience.
  • Specialize in wildlife biology, botany, or ecology.
  • Knowledge of local and regional biological and habitat planning regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Endangered Species Act compliance and consultation with US Fish and Wildlife Service.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations, including the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
  • Be able to work cooperatively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Consulting experience and established relationships with federal, tribal, state, and local resource and regulatory agencies.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of wetland delineation and Clean Water Act 404 permitting.
  • Experience with National NEPA document preparation.
  • Master’s degree in Biology, Environmental Studies, or closely-related field.

Compensation:

This is a full-time position paid on a salaried basis between $78,000 - $105,000 annually, depending on experience and education.
