The Addison County Regional Planning Commission (“ACRPC”) located in downtown  Middlebury, Vermont seeks to fill a Staff Planner position to build stronger communities in Addison County by implementing the projects and programs of ACRPC.  Areas of responsibility will include:

• Regional Planning, specifically outreach and writing of sections of the Addison County Regional Plan;
• Municipal planning, helping ACRPC’s member municipalities draft plans and policies;
• Marketing and outreach via the commission’s events, newsletter and website;
• Specified watershed and natural resources-based work; and
• Other special projects.

Candidate should possess a four-year degree in planning or a related field, preferably combined with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in planning or a related field. The candidate should also possess the following qualities: a working knowledge of rules and regulations relating to planning and development in Vermont, an ability to coordinate and lead diverse interest groups to complete a project, the ability to conduct objective analysis, strong writing, graphic design, communication and computer skills, including Google Docs, Microsoft Word and Excel.
