The Addison County Regional Planning Commission (“ACRPC”) located in downtown Middlebury, Vermont seeks to fill a Staff Planner position to build stronger communities in Addison County by implementing the projects and programs of ACRPC. Areas of responsibility will include:
- Regional Planning, specifically outreach and writing of sections of the Addison County Regional Plan;
- Municipal planning, helping ACRPC’s member municipalities draft plans and policies;
- Marketing and outreach via the commission’s events, newsletter and website;
- Specified watershed and natural resources-based work; and
- Other special projects.
Candidate should possess a four-year degree in planning or a related field, preferably combined with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in planning or a related field. The candidate should also possess the following qualities: a working knowledge of rules and regulations relating to planning and development in Vermont, an ability to coordinate and lead diverse interest groups to complete a project, the ability to conduct objective analysis, strong writing, graphic design, communication and computer skills, including Google Docs, Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of GIS and other design programs are also desirable. Salary based upon experience. Excellent benefits, including a flexible, friendly work environment.
