The purpose of this position, which is assigned to Elephant Butte Lake State Park, is to manage the recreational boating safety program at Elephant Butte Lake State Park.  This position must ensure the boating program is compliant with the New Mexico Boat Act, Division Policy and Procedures, State and Federal Laws. This position will also oversee enforcement of the New Mexico Boat Act, ensure vessel safety inspections meet the minimum requirements, provide boating safety courses, and maintain boating facilities/equipment. This position must also conduct marina safety inspections and review water recreation related concessions. This position will submit data for monthly and annual reporting regarding the boating program and the United States Coast Guard grant requirements. Required courses must be completed in order to obtain certification(s) to become an instructor for teaching the New Mexico Boating Course and other water related safety courses.
