State Park Interpreter II (Permanent Intermittent)

The reporting location for this position is Southern Service Center in San Diego, CA. This position will work under the direction of State Park Interpreter II.   

The Interpretation and Education Division of California State Parks is guiding efforts to broaden access for K-12 students and the public through innovative interpretive and educational content, programs and tools. This position will coordinate and implement projects resulting from recent funding and initiatives by performing the more complex tasks related to interpretive project coordination, budgeting, contract management, content development for distance learning programs, and innovative mobile and digital applications. This position will also lead the research and development of tools and systems to enhance interpretation through digital means and will test and report findings on feasibility and use within various state parks.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.

Occasional travel may be required, including some weekends and overnight trips. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.

This position may work up to 1500 hours per year/in a 12 consecutive month period.

This position is designated as telework eligible-remote centered.
