STORMWATER CONTROL TECHNICIAN - JOB DESCRIPTION

KC Harvey Environmental is a growing environmental consulting and field services firm headquartered in Bozeman, Montana, with regional operations in Rawlins, and Sheridan, Wyoming; Tioga, North Dakota; and remote operations throughout the Rocky Mountains and Northern Great Plains.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are currently seeking to hire multiple Stormwater Control Technicians to assist with stormwater management in our North Dakota / Eastern Montana operations based in Tioga, ND. We offer competitive pay (starting at $24/hour depending on experience) with overtime potential and provided lodging. Positions are full time and seasonal, from April through November 2025. Employment beyond these dates is possible depending on project needs.

Expectations are listed below:

  • Assist with erosion control installation (wattles, sediment barriers, silt fences, etc.).
  • Assist with maintenance of existing erosion control measures.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments to identify erosion risks.
  • Identify, map, and document soil erosion features.
  • Update inspection and repair documentation in a digital data management system.

Additional job tasks may include:

  • Assist with vegetation monitoring/ surveys and other reclamation projects.
  • Identify plants using a key.
  • Manage weeds using truck, ATV/UTV, or backpack mounted herbicide spray equipment.
  • Job tasks may vary and be assigned as management and leadership needs.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Applicants must have:

  • A commitment to high standards in safety.
  • A Wyoming certified pesticide applicator license (preferred) or ability to obtain a license.
  • A positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team.
  • A clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel regularly to project locations.
  • Ability to participate in pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Be organized and detail-oriented.

WHAT YOU’LL GET

This is a seasonal hourly position. Compensation is dependent on experience and skills. Fully furnished lodging will be provided.
