Summer Camp Counselor

Requirements:
- Experience or willing to gain experience teaching or working with children
- Desire to work with and respond to the needs of children of different ages and personalities
- Willing to learn about natural ecosystems, native wildlife, and conservation issues
- Creative and willing to use different teaching styles to promote an engaging atmosphere for campers
- Ability to work well on a team or alone on projects
- Behave in a professional, respectful manner when representing the Foundation
- Flexible and willing to perform all duties as directed
Responsibilities:
- Lead engaging camp activities like science education, nature exploration, nature based arts and crafts and outdoor sporting skills such as Archery.
- Actively monitor campers during activities, ensuring their safety and addressing any potential hazards
- Act as a positive role model for campers, fostering personal growth and development
- Teach two, week-long summer day camps that meet the mission of the Foundation and follow the best practices in the field of environmental education and interpretation
- Maintain open communication with the camp staff and supervisor, providing updates on camper needs
- Administer basic first aid as needed and report any injuries to the camp leadership
- Assist with maintaining and organization of camp facilities
